Round 3 - B&R Autospares Trophy, Wag and Mag Only
It was a Lower Basin shut out with the top three weights all coming from that section, and the top four finishing anglers making thier first appearances in this years summer league.
Matt Sampson bagged 31lbs of silvers from the recently poor performing peg 16 to win the match, chased home by Shaun Stenton with 22lbs 13ozs from peg 14. Wayne Barnard put in a great performance from the often trickey peg 13 with 15lbs 7ozs to take third place. Brian Powel took the default section with 11lb 11ozs from peg 17.
Simon Allen won the Second Basin section off fancied peg 35 with 14lbs 2ozs, but ultimatly it was a day to draw a red peg.
It was good to see a number of tench caught along with some quality roach, including a 15oz redfin netted by DT, there was also no need for the blanket weight to come into force! Perhaps keeping the worms and groundbait at home is the lesson from today.
