Seven anglers contested the last chance match on a cold and breezy Second Basin. It was a very slow start with hardly any fish being banked in the first hour. Derek Foster started on the tip and took one small bream before moving to the waggler where he found three other slabs and a few rudd on the maggot and worm. Banking over 16lbs this was easily enough to enable Derek to join a small group of anglers who have won a competition this season. Ady Larkins found three slabs and a couple of skimmers on the pole, and but for a couple of lost fish could have pushed Derek closer. Duncan Edwards rounded off his good season with three slabs and a creditable third place.
