Sunday 23rd March - Last Chance Match
It might technically be spring but conditions were made really difficult for the eight anglers who had qualified for the Last Chance Match by a cold northerly wind, with most anglers limited to short pole and feeder tactics. Tony Hillas alternated between the pole and the tip to net an 11lb bag of silvers that included a few small bream, enough on the day for victory from peg 17. Steve Whitehouse landed a bonus slab bream fishing a very short pole line off of peg 15, adding a few silvers and a good sized bonus eel at the whistle to make sure of second place. It was a closer finish for third with Mark Gratton on hot peg 18 and Phil Eagen on peg 16 both finding the silvers on the tip, with Mark eventually winning the race by 2ozs.
The Last Chance Match brings a close to the 2024-25 season, if you have any trophies could you plase return them to Waterfront Shooting and Fishing so we can have them ready for the Presentation Evening on Saturday 9th May.
