Pairs League Round 6 - Stu Bell Trophy
Sunday 4th August
The legendary Stu Bell Trophy saw a close competition as the Second Basin outfished the Lower Basin. Peter Giles found the bigger skimmers and from just 12 bites amassed an 8lbs 7oz bag, partner Adrian Hill had a creditable 4lb 8ozs of bits from the Lower Basin, enough to take victory by a point. Me and My Dad were the runners up with Simon Allen winning the Lower Basin with close on 6lbs of bits and Dave Allen backing that up with a creditable 5lbs. They can blame DT for costing them that valuable point as he bagged the best part of 7lbs of blades to finish in front of Dave and get New Team Faint Heart into third with the help of Len Hancock (well done DT).
All the other Teams could not put anything consistent together other than the Tiscott boys who were at least consistently bad, but amazingly hold on to third place in the league!
