With the canal in top form the average weight per angler record was broke again with a total of 134lbs coming to the scales averaging 9lbs 8ozs per angler. What was more amazing was that the weights included only one slab bream of around 4lb mark taken by Kevin Hill. With this being the wag and mag contest most opted for the waggler rod or whip. Nathan Underwood amassed a bag of skimmers, roach and rudd of just under 20lbs from peg 27 to win the BR Autospares trophy, the majority of the fish were taken on the inside using a short whip. Paul Braund fished his trusty 7 meter whip from peg 13 and caught skimmers steadily throughout the day from mid channel to take second place with 14lbs. Fishing end peg 33 Dick Turner pipped Tony Johns for third spot by one ounce with 13lb 1oz, Tony on Peg 16 with 13lbs was left ruing the ones that he bumped off! Simon Allen kept his place at the top of the league with a section win in the Second Basin but it is still all to fish for with two matches left in the series.
