On yet another blustery Sunday it was a struggle to keep the bait in the water and yet again a few poles broke under the strain. Simon Allen amassed 11lbs of silvers from peg 20 using the short whip and maggot to good effect. The victory really does mean the Winter League title is now his with a 27 point lead. Ian Gray found a couple of slabs fishing the pole as far out as he dare from peg 18 and was just shy of a 10lb bag, but it was still easily enough for second place. Kevin Hill was the only other angler to find a slab to boost his catch to just under 8lbs for third spot. It was harder going in the Second Basin with anglers fishing the punced bread or maggot, Peter Giles took the section with a creditable 4lb 12ozs of silvers. Nathan Underwood won the Bottom Basin section with 7lb 2ozs of silvers taken on the pole.
