Sunday 18th September 2022 - Reg Howard Trophy
It was not the 'shoot-out' for the title everyone wanted as Simon Allen drew peg 13, where he had performed well in the past, and Andy Southey drew unfancied peg 11. On a day where the bits were few and far between it was a day for the quality fish and that was the way it panned out with Simon bagging over 13lbs of skimmers on the long pole to win the match and the Summer League 2022. On the lower number pegs it was a case of chasing roach and hoping for that default section win.
Rob Fuller used the long pole to bank a near double figure haul of skimmers to take second place from Steve Whitehouse by 1lb who was on peg 18. Steve had the compensation of moving up to the runner up spot in the league though. There were section wins for Adrian Hill (7lbs skimmers and eels) and Brian Powell (5lbs of roach).
