Sunday 26th February - Winter League R6
The pegs were again 'squished up' to get everyone between pegs 12=1 and peg 20=12 in the Lower Basin. As it turned out it was a basin of two halves with the catches generally improving as you approached Falcon Bridge.
Matt Sampson duly made it a hat trick of victories after drawing hot peg 12 (20) and banking some quality skimmers to win by 1lb 6ozs with an 11lb net. Andy Southey was hot on Matts heals but switching between tip and pole could only deliver 9lb 10ozs of skimmers to finish runner up. However, it was enough to edge out Ryan Willshire by one ounce who pole fished his way to a 9lb 9oz bag of silvers for third.
Ade Hicks followed up last weeks success with an 8lbs section win, taking skimers on pole and tip tacktics. Anyone pegged the sea side of peg 14 had a tough day as even the carp were not interested on the lower numbers!
