Pairs League Round 2

Everyone got a right soaking as the rain started on cue at 9.15am and then stopped at 2.30pm. The contest saw the Halwill Hustlers reverse last weeks result with a victory over Me and My Boy to take a share at the top of the League. Nathan Underwood bagged 21lbs to win the pond section and partner Ian Gray backed him up with 15lbs for second place on the Lake and victory for the Hustlers. Simon Allen took the Lake with a near 30lb bag of 5 carp and 4lbs of silvers, Dave Allen finished fifth, even though he had a 4lb Carp first put in! However, with Simon's bonus point for the win, they finished in second overall and kept the championship challenge going.
New Team Faint Heart saw a steady third in the Lake for Dick Turner with 10lbs and partner Peter Slade finishing fourth in the Pond with 7lbs of Silvers, enough to sneak them into third place.
The competition now really hots up as we move into the three evening matches starting on Tuesday 30th May.
