Pairs League Round 7
Those fishing the Second Basin section were disappointed as it it proved hard to get any consistency, especially with two cormorants working up and down the swims all day!
Dick Turner on end peg 26 persisted on the pole and found the best section weight with 7lbs of Silvers, the same weight as his partner Pete Slade fishing from peg 13 in the Lower Basin, which was enough to give New Team Faint Heat the runners up spot. Dave Allen had the second best weight from the Second Basin with 3lbs 12ozs, although the complaining would have indicated a weight closer to 12ozs. The good news was that partner Simon Allen had won the Lower Basin with no pasty break and a weight of 15lbs to give My and My Boy the win.
The New Halwill Hustlers kept the pressure on at the top of the league awith a 10lb bag of silvers from Ian Gray off peg 20 and stand in Mark Gratton's 3lb 2ozs of bits which secured third place and a slim 2 points lead in the league with one match to go. Will 'Bream Meister' Nathan Underwood be back for the last match to claim the glory for the Hustlers?
