Pairs League Round 7
Sunday 15th September
It was Whalesborough Lake that was on form for this penultimate pairs match with Me and My Boy effectively securing the League Title by taking maximum points. Simon Allen more than doubled the nearest weight on the Lake with a succession of carp and silvers to bank 35lbs and Dave Allen didn't need the the bonus 3lb mirror Carp from the Middle Pound section as he had enough slivers to have won the section in any case.
For the first hour of the Middle Pound section the signs were that the recent double figure hauls of silvers would continue but someone threw a switch and the section effectively died with anglers struggling for the next four hours. Peter Giles eeked out 2lbs 3ozs of redfins and this was enough with Adrian Hills 13lbs of carp to sneak the Bude Bay Pirates into second place. Kevin Hills 15lb second place on the Lake was just enough to see the Lager louts into third, Ady Larkins finishing joint 4th in the Middle Pound with 1lb 3ozs.
It will all be about the minor places on Sunday 6th October unless we get a bumper entry of Teams!
