Summer League Round 1, Monica Jones Cup, Sunday 16th May:
It was far from the fish fest everyone was predicting with only one angler breaking the 6lb barrier. It was Dave Allen who retained the Monica Jones cup with 6lb 5ozs of silvers off the much melined peg 29. Len Hancock chased him home on adjacent peg 28 but fell 1lb short with 5lbs 5ozs of silvers for second.
Tony Hillas finished third with 5lbs of skimmers from what was an unusually hard Lower Basin. There section wins for Wayne Burnard with just shy of 4lbs from the Second Basin and Matt Sampson with bonus eel banking just over 4lbs to win the Lower Basin Section.
