Sunday 11th June - 2023 - Tom King Trophy
Len Hancock made it back to back wins with a 16lb bag of skimmers from peg 34, following on from his 21lb haul in Tuesdays Pairs League (peg 33). Len again fished the tip to bring a succession of skimmers to the bank and easily winning the Tom King Trophy. Tony Hillas banked 4 bream early doors from peg 15 on the method feeder, but the slabs did not keep coming and so had to find a few more silvers on the long pole for the final three hours which thankfully saw him home in second place. Dave Allen was on hot peg 33 and finished third with an 11lb net of skimmers.
Dick Turner kept up his run of form winning the Second Basin Section with 8lb 10ozs and Tony Johns nabbed the Lower Basin section netting a late bream to boost his catch of silvers to 8lbs 6ozs. With Brian Powel putting in another good performance the top of the league looks more 1993 than 2023. With a couple of notable anglers fishing the Feedrmasters at Upper Tamar, that gap may now be just too big to close.
