Summer League Round 3, Sunday 28th June:
The forecast rain saw a depleted field contend what was a match of the Basins. With the Lower Basin in poor form at present it was no surprise that the top five places all came from the Second Basin. Simon Allen got the better of Nathan Underwood and Ady Larkins respectively to win the 'long pole' shootout on pegs 31, 32 and 33. All three took a succession of skimmers throughout the day on pellet and worm offerings. Nathan, Simon and Ady are starting to break clear at the top of the Summer League with Ian Gray having a Lower Basin draw at the wrong time of year and hampering his challenge.
Peter Slade managed to find the silvers and won the section in the Lower Basin with 9lb+ bag from peg 18. Paul Braund sat out for the big fish and netted three slabs and a carp for a near 13lb bag and the Second Basin section win.
