Summer League Round 4, Martins Group Sevices Shield, Sunday 27th June:
The weather forecast proved thankfully unreliable as the expected heavy rain did not emerge and everyone remained dry.
Early pressure from Adrian 'Sailor' Hill picking up skimmers on the tip from peg 19 was not enough to prevent Simon Allen on peg 17 bagging 14lbs of silvers (many late on) to win the Martin Group Services Shield. Adrian did manage a double figure bag of skimmers to finish second, 12ozs ahead of Dick Turner on peg 35 who finished third with a bag of skimmers taken on the long pole.
There were section wins for Dave Allen and Matt Sampson with nets of silvers for over 7lbs and 8lbs respectively.
Simon Allen also netted the season best roach to date with a 1lb specimen, he also had another at 12ozs.
