Summer League Round 4, Sunday 5th July:
All of the action kicked off early in the Lower Basin and with an early brace of carp (8lb and 6lb) Ian 'Cosmic' Croxton could have been forgiven for for feeling disappointed as Pete Horton wiped out his lead with a 17lb 'monster' carp. However, Ian stuck to the tip and pellet method to land a further two carp for a 33lb winning haul as Pete could only add 6lbs of silvers for 23lbs and second place.
The fancied Bird Hide section did produce but it was the late show for Peter Slade with over 15lbs of his 21lb bag of bream and skimmers coming in the last 90 minutes. It was enough to see off the other 'carp' challengers for third place. The Lower Basin section being taken by Kevin Hill with a carp boosted net of 14lbs and the Bird Hide section by Matt Samson with a carp bag of 16lbs.
The League Leaders were going 'fish for fish' in the Second Basin and Simon Allen came out on top with nearly 14lbs of silvers to Nathan Underwood's 12lbs to win the section. It puts Si top of the summer league from Nat by a single point.
Nearing the half way point its just like Lauda v Hunt but without the glamour!
