Sunday 13th October - Summer League Round 9
This was a contest decided by big carp rather than the predicted slabs. Kevin Hill netted a string of carp to 11lbs from end peg 34 to take his first victory for the year, the fish fell to pole fished paste. Quiver tipped minnie boilie was the method in the Lower Basin for Len Codlin who landed two carp, one weiging in at 14lbs, to easily take second place. Dick Turner fished the wagger from peg 28 and netted 16lbs of silvers for third place, a net worthy of a win on any other day. Simon Allen finished in seventh place but it was enough to secure the Summer League title as his only challenger, Nathan (Breamaster) Underwood finished 9th.
Its time to break out the thermal underwear and liquidised bread as we move into the Winter League (you all love it really!).
