Winter League Round 2, Sunday 30th October:

With the fishing slow in the Narrows section, Matt Sampson switched to the heavy pole and paste to see if there were any carp around.  He had just one bite but it resulted in a common of 19lbs 15oz, enough to win the match on its own but a welcome addition to 7ozs of meagre pickings that had proceeded the carp.

Simon Allen found the waggler productive in the Lower Basin as he located the better skimmers by fishing at distance (breaking four catapults in the process).  He banked 15lbs of silvers for second place and moves to the top of the league table.  The skimmers in the Second Basin were gathered around the 20's and Ian Croxton made the most of end peg 25 netting close on 15lbs of skimmer bream for third spot.  Len Hancock bagged 9lbs+ as he also consistently found the skimmers off peg 28 to finish fourth.

There were section wins for Dick Turner in the Narrows and Rob Fuller in the Lower Basin with an identical 5lbs 13ozs.  Dave Allen took the Second Basin 20's section with close on 7lbs of skimmers off peg 27 and Mike Bowden the 30's section with 5lbs of silvers.
