Winter League Round 7, Sunday 12th February:
It was a re-run of the 27th November with the Lower Basin the only section to produce any fish, it was so bad in the Second Basin no one even had a bite (I blame the Chairman!).
Rob Fuller managed to put a few silvers together on the pole for a creditable 4lb winning bag on what was a chilly Lower Basin with the Easterly wind right in your face. Adrian Hill put the bread punch to work and managed to break the 1lb mark with a few small roach and move to the top of the winter league. For everywhere else lucky enough to draw a red tile it was bits and pieces for a few ounces as the canal went into shut down mode.
It was the 4th time I had drawn peg 32 this winter, my other draws have been 29, 30 and 33. When questioned what was the best part of my day (which incidentally was my birthday), I answered the fry-up in the Brendon Arms for breakfast!
Come on Spring.
