Winter League R9 - Sunday 15th March
Many anglers have complained about peg 31 and how hard it is to fish off that peg in the past. I don't know what you are all complaining about and to prove my point Ian Croxton blew that myth away and amassed a near 26lb bag of bream to easily see off the fancied Lower Basin pegs for victory. Simon Allen did find the slabs from peg 16 and along with some roach weighed in 18lbs for the runner up slot. Peter Slade had a mixed bag of silvers and with the help of the best slab of the year (5lbs 13ozs) finished third from end peg 13.
Duncan Edwards won the Lower Basin section but junior Kieran Durrant had a larger bag that included some choice rudd and a couple of brown trout that would have seen him win the section and finish fifth overall had he been in the seniors.
Jim Escott took the second Basin section win and Nathan Underwood gave the bream a rest in order to bash the perch for a section winning 8lbs from the Bird Hide.
