Winter League - Jan Pethick and Johnny Coney Memorial Trophy- Sunday 29th March
Adrian Hill avoided the 'Last Chance Match' with a brace of carp (one at 10lbs) taken on tip fished bread flake from the Lower Basin to win the final match of the winter league. With gale force winds hampering the long pole anglers the double figure bags were restricted to the Lower Basin with Simon Allen and Ian Gray taking 12lb+ bags of bream to finish second and third second respectively. Kevin Hill also managed double figures with a 10lb bag to win the section.
Duncan Edwards matched Adrian Hill with a brace of carp, but they were small in comparison but big enough to win the Second Basin section with 8lbs. Tony Johns took the Bird Hide section with 2lbs 9ozs.
Simon Allen romped home to complete the winter league title but Nathan Underwood managed to pip Simon Poynter for the runner spot by two points.
You can all put the bread punch away and get the sun screen out as we head into what the weather forecasters predict to be a long hot summer, and no doubt a legendary Summer and Pairs league 2015.
