Pairs League Round 1

Whalesborough Lake and the Hele Bridge Stock Pond again provided the two sections for this opening competition of the new season. And once again the large predicted bags of carp did not materialise from the lake with each section producing only one 10lb+ bag respectively.
The final result had a familiar ring with the reigning champions Me and My Boy pipping last years runners up, New Halwill Hustlers, by half a point. Simon and Dave Allen bagged nets of silvers to finish equal 4th and 2nd in their respective sections for victory. Nathan Underwood found a couple of carp to win his section with a 13lb bag, even with Ian Gray finishing 6th on the lake with 2lbs of bits, the added bonus point from Nathans section win landed them 2nd place overall.
Keven Hill won the lake section with 16lbs, boosted by two carp for 12lbs early doors. Again the section bonus point proved vital for thew Lager Louts with Ady Larkins finishing 8th in the Pond.
A creditable mention for Old Guys Rule, Guy Pessell and Derek Foster, who were half an ounce off finishing 4th. however, they are in the top half oft he league and now have something to defend.
