Winter League Round 3, Sunday 20th November:
With the water highly coloured following storm Angus it was a Lower Basin shut out with the first three places all coming from the deeper water pegs. Rob Fuller moved to the top of the league with a 6lb 9ozs bag of pole caught silvers from peg 18. Dave Allen chose similar tactics and landed 5lbs, including one good bream, to take second place. Peter Giles only had three bites on the tip and pole but a 3lb slab helped ease him into third spot with just over 4lbs.
It was silvers all the way in Second Basin with Paul Braund winning the section with a combination of whip and short pole work to amass 3lbs 6ozs of bits on end peg 27. Simon Allen took the lower Basin section with three late skimmers for 1lb 10ozs.
It will be a hard slog from here on in, welcome to the Winter League.
