Winter League Round 3: Sunday 7th November:
For once it was an even split between the two Basins and surprisingly it was the Second Basin that came out on top. At the equivalent match last year everyone in the Second Basin blanked with no one having a bite!
It was no surprise that Simon Allen came out on top but the four skimmers that boosted his catch did not show for a while. All were taken on pinkie to the long pole and gave Simon consecutive victories. To combat the blustery conditions in the Lower Basin Steve Whitehouse fished the short pole and bagged 8lbs of redfins to finish second. Mark Gratton, also in the Lower Basin and alternated between pole and tip to bank 7lbs of skimmers for third.
