Sunday 9th October - Paul Drissell Memorial Trophy

It was a bumper turnout on what was a fine day for the second ever Paul Drissell memorial trophy match.

Whilst the big slabs were absent it was carp that featured in the top three placings.  London Tone Hillas retained the trophy with a 17lb carp and some silvers for a 24lb winning weight from end peg 12.  Tony must have been worried when Matt Sampson hooked into a carp on adjacent peg 13 but at 13lbs it was only enough to elivate Matt into second.  Steve Whithouse hooked into an 8lb carp on the pole in the last 90 minutes but had enough time to nurse it to the landing net and take his weight to over 11lbs for third place.

Brian Powell bagged up on dog roach and perch from peg 20 to bring a 10lb bag of quality silvers to the scales for fourth place.  However, his one bream/skimmer of 1lbs 7ozs was an ounce behind the biggest banked by Dave Allen who won the bottle of rum kindly donated by Rob from Waterfront Shooting and Fishing.  Another fish of note was John Turner who weighed in a 14oz roach, so they are getting bigger.  

There were section wins for Dizz's best mate Dean Ferris with an excellent 8lbs 9ozs of silvers from the Lower Basin, Simon Allen in the second Basin with just under 9lbs and Steve Maynard gave the bits a bashing for 7lbs 10ozs at the Bird Hide section.
