It was an elastic stretching bream bonanza for the Teams that did enter the first round of this years Pairs League. Fishing the short pole in the Lower Basin Simon Allen bagged a 35lb haul, with Andy Southy on the next peg picking up close on 28lbs of the bronzed flanked match anglers favourite (except these were all in fighting mood!). It was a simillar story in the Second Bason with everyone returning double figure bags of decent skimmers with the odd slab and dog roach mixed in.
In the end it was the bonus point for winning the section that seperated the Teams with Me and My Boy taking the honours by a point from the Bude Bay Pirates, with Mark Gratton the only angler not to get in amongst the skimmers. The only downer on the day was the 2 hours of heavy rain, but at least we started and ended in the sunshine.
