Len Hancock had the luxury of shade for most of the match on a stffling hot day fishing off peg 33. For the second match running this was the winning peg with Len banking a succession of quality skimmers on the tip throughout the match for a winning Second Basin bag of 21lbs 6ozs. With Lynstone Lad partner Steve Whitehouse bagging 5lbs 3ozs of bits from the Lower Basin for a section 3rd place, it was enough for the Team victory.
Mark Gratton did find a Lower Basin slab from peg 15 to boost his net to a section and bonus point winning one of 7lb 8ozs, but partner Adrian Hill fishing off peg 29 could only muster 4th place with 8lbs 3ozs, seeing the Bude Bay Pirates into second.
With Tamar Lake superstar Ryan Willshire standing in for Simon Allen a sound finish for Me and My Boy should have been assured but with Ryan finishing bottom of the Second Basin section with 7lbs 3ozs and partner Dave Allen second from bottom in his section, it was a day to get the excuses ready for Simon. The Tiscott Boys took full advantage, finishing equal third with AA Angling which was enough to see them go top of the league.
