Pairs League Round 5 (Evening)

With a Kevin Hill and Ady Larkins both taking second spot in their respective sections it was an easy first win of the season for the Lager Louts from respective end pegs, a feature of this season that appears to have a higher significance than usual. Peter Horton made the statement 'its carp or bust for me' at the start of the contest and although he lost two other fish he worked the hydro elastic hard to net at least one double figure common. It was just as well with partner Mat Sampson struggling with everyone else in the Lower Basin to find any fish as eventually the Brendon All Stars finished equal second with The Codfathers. Len Codlin found a slab and Simon Hockady netted a creditable 3lbs+ from the Lower Basin to see the Codfathers go top of the league for the first time ever.
It was another slow evening for the real 'Carp or Bust' team with Matt and Herbie only having the consolation of being awarded best dressed anglers (dressed like a couple of tourists!). Its got to be third time lucky for the specimen hunting team in a fortnights time.
