Pairs League Round 2

It was hard work for most anglers, particularly in the Lower Basin where the warm weather has yet to get through to the fish and anglers struggled to find even bites.
The anticipated haul of bream from the Second Basin failed to materialise with only solitary slabs apiece for Kevin Hill and Simon Hockaday ensuring 1st and 2nd respectively from that section. Steve Whitehouse in the Lower Basin only bagged 1lb but combined with Simon Hockaday's second place it gave the Lynstone Lads third place overall on the day and a tie for second in the league. With Kevin's partner Ady blanking the Lager Louts crashed out of the running.
Pairs fishing is about consistency and 3rd place performances in each section from Dick Turner and Peter Slade respectively gave 'New Team Faint Heart' a joint first place on the day and an early 4 points lead at the top of the League. The win was shared with 'Hey Up Lad' as Shaun (Northern Lad) Stenton bagged a 10lb carp to win the Lower Basin Section and partner Ian (Brummie) Croxton netting a near 4lb bag of silvers to seal the result.
