Tom King Trophy - Sunday 4th June 2017

The two hours of rain (not forcast!) at the start of the match dampened a few spirits, as did the slowness of the silver fishing that only 24 hours had been good.  An early doors 9lb carp taken on tip fished bread by Matt Sampson from peg 12 was enough to secure the win.  Matt did pick up a few additional skimmers and rudd on the long pole to push his winning weight to 11lbs.  Simon Allen had to rely on a couple of slabs from the usually productive peg 35 to finish second with 9lbs and take an early lead in the Summer League.  Dick Turner made the most of end peg 25 bagging 8lbs of silvers on the long pole to see him easily into third place.

6lb nets gave Kevin Hill and Tony Hilias the Lower and Upper Basin section wins respectively, Kevin benefiting from a  3lb 11oz slab.
