With blue skies and temperatures in the high twenties it was a day for chasing the fish to quietly build your bag. Ian 'Cosmic' Croxton managed to bring a succession of skimmers to the bank for the five hour duration and won with a 12lb haul from end peg 34. A 9lb carp from the other end peg (13) saw Pete Horton come close but with the silvers hard to find he had to settle for second place with 11lbs, a few ounces adrift of the winner.
Simon Allen did find the silvers, but it was hard work and he finally brought close on 9lbs to the bank for third place from peg 14 and a further extension at the top of the Summer League.
There was a tie for the section wins in the Upper Basin with Nathan Underwood and Len Hancock both weighing in with 6lbs 12ozs of silvers, Paul Drissle won the Lower Basin section with just under 4lbs of bits.
