Summer League Round 6, Sunday 18th July:
Phew what a scorcher! With temperatures touching 30c, a very light breeze and bright blue skies it was always going to be a tough day.
Seasoned angler Brian Powell showed the field the way home and banked 7lb 10ozs of silvers from the Lower Basin using the short pole to win the competition (no waggler Brian? What has the modern world come to?). Andy Southy bagged a few early skimmers on the tip and built on that with silvers to place second with 7lbs. Adrian 'Sailor' Hill could not repeat last weeks winning performance but still netted 6lb 10ozs of bits for third place.
Kevin Hill took the section win in the Second Basin, finding the better skimmers in the last hour for 6lbs 5ozs and only 3ozs behind with 6lbs 2ozs was John Townsend who won the Lower Basin section.
