Summer League Round 6, Sunday 26th July:
What is it with this summer? Another three hours fishing in torrential rain, so much so they had to open the Lock Gate paddles to let some water out the canal!
Nathan Underwood got amongst the carp to win the contest with top weight of 33lbs from the in form (and anything but unlucky) end peg 13. Meanwhile at the other end of the section Ian Gray found the slabs and netted six of the bronzed dustbin lids for 25lbs and second place from end peg 20.
Nick West chose to take his annual two weeks holiday in Bude a little later this year in the hope of good weather. That didn't work out so well, but another end peg draw and 16lbs from peg 35 gave a third place consolation and a little sunshine to brighten his visit.
There were section wins for Duncan Edwards (12lbs) and Shaun (10lbs), and everyone went home soaking wet again.
August 9th had better be a scorcher!
