Sunday 6th March
With twelve anglers it was decided to peg everyone between pegs 12 and 20, which at least saw the majority of anglers find a few fish.
Simon Allen managed to tempt a few slabs using worm over groudbait on the long pole and with a number additional silvers easily won with 15lbs 4ozs. Steve Whitehouse did find some skimmers on the adjacent peg to take second place with 8lbs. Ade Hicks had a bonus 4lb 7oz slab that helped his total weight to 7lbs 3ozs and third place. There was section win for Paul Braund with 60 redfins for 4lb 2ozs (punch and pinkie) and Tone Johns with 3lbs 14ozs. Dave Allen took a runner up section from Adrian Hill by an ounce with 3lb 2ozs of silvers.
It was not a good day for Matt Sampson who 'went large', losing a carp into the bargain. Unfortunatly this has allowed Simon to open up an almost unasailable 12 point lead in the winter league and give Steve Whitehouse a shot at the runner up spot in the last match.
