As a result of storm Kathrine and the high winds it was decided to fish the Lower Basin on both banks, normal pegs 11 to 20 and 21 to 25 on the Wharf and peg 26 on the Brendon Car Park.
Ryan Willshire smashed it on the day fishing worm on the short pole from Wharf peg 23 to bag 22lbs that included a couple of slabs, skimmers and tench. The nearest challenge came from pegs 11, 12 and 13 where Tony Hillas, Dick Turner and Tony Johns bagged up on tench and skimmers for second third and fourth (section win) respectively. DT's net included a 1lb 14oz hybrid which we believe is a new club record.
The other section was won by Steve Whitehouse fishing Wharf peg 24, who banked 7lb 7ozs of skimmers and tench that confirmed him as the Winter League champion with 113 points, 18 points clear of Dave Allen who finished as runner up.
Colin Abbott continued his good winter league form, bringing 7lb 5ozs of tench to the scales for a runner up section fishing Wharf peg 22.
