Matt Sampson fishing peg 14 bagged an 18lb carp on a size 16 hook and maggot, not the intended target but after a 30 minute tussle on a 2lb bottom the fish was banked and the victory secured. The lack of groundbait in this wag and mag only contest did not stop the skimmers coming for Dick Turner who made the most of end peg 34, netting over 15lbs of bream for second, and a ten point lead in the league. Close by on peg 32 Andy Southey also had a double figure bag of skimmers to take third place.
Wayne Burnard netted a number of good skimmers to take the Lower Basin section with 10lbs, whilst Ady Larking's 8lbs 11oz bag of silvers was enough to win the section in the second Basin.
We also saw a tench appear with Dave Allen netting a 1lb 8oz red eye.
