Sunday 13th January - Winter League
Dick Turner took full advantage of Nathan Underwood and Simon Allen's absence with a victory that sends him six points clear at the top of the league. Dick stuck to the wag and mag from peg 19 and as the big slabs were reluctant to show it proved to be the right decision with just over 7lbs being easily enough to win. Next door on peg 18 Dave Allen stuck to his trusty pole and held off the opposition with a near 5lb bag. Jean Bowden netted a carp that saw a creditable third place from the difficult to fish peg 13. It was small roach all the way in the Second Basin and so a single slab to bolster Ady Larkins catch of roach was easily enough to win the section. Peter Giles picked up the Lower Basin section with a 4lb bag. All in all, not bad for match where in previous years the majority of anglers have blanked!
